Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai, President
Born on 26th October 1950 in Mangalore, Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai did his schooling at Canara High School Main. Subsequently, he studied Mechanical Engineering at Manipal Engineering College (now MIT) at Manipal during 1968-73 and MBA at Southern Methodist University, Dallas,Texas, USA. Later he joined his family business looking after manufacturing division of fish meal and fish oil. He is now heading Quest Marketing & Services, a wholesale dealer of automobile spares and cement, and also engaged in transportation and pumping of ready mix concrete. Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai is a veteran of our Association, having served as our Secretary for 14 years from 1999 to 2013 and as Vice President for 4 years from 2013 to 2017.
Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai is married to Pratibha and the couple has two children. Their son Praveen is an engineer working for Wipro Ltd., in USA. Their daughter Pratiksha is married and settled in Bengaluru. The Pai couple are also the proud grandparents of two lovely grandchildren, a girl and a boy.
PRESIDENT’S ACTION PLAN
Leading our Association as its President is a rare honour which I had never even dreamed of. When the mantle of leadership of the Association fell on me in November 2017, I resolved that I would do my best for the Association and further build on the inspiring legacy of my predecessors. During my term, I have kept the following as my goals:
- · Make our Association stronger and build it into a model Association in the state as well as in the entire country.
- · Reach a target for 500 life members.
- · Try to resolve problems faced by the Members.
- · Involve the members and increase their participation in Association activities.
- · Conduct interactive meets with Sales Tax Office, Income Tax Office and other government bodies.
- · Revive training seminars and professional development workshops.
- · Involve in community service activities and improve the social profile of the Association.
- · Provide financial assistance to studious children of employees of the members on merit basis.
- · Conduct health camp for the Members and their employees in Mangaluru, Udupi and Puttur.
· Conduct mass awareness drive in issues relating to our sector such as pollution awareness, road safety awareness for children etc.
I solicit the support and wholehearted cooperation of the Members in making my vision into reality. I also welcome Members’ suggestions and inputs to improve the functioning of our Association.
