I am Auto Bhavan. I am the dream child of all the Members of the Dakshnina Kannada Automobile & Tyre Dealers Association. Late Sri K.Vishwanath Prabhu, founder Secretary, dreamt of bringing me to this world. Unfortunately the time was not ripe during his life time. When he and Sri Kasturi Ramachandra pai, founder President handed over the reigns of the Association to Sri Maroor Padmanabha Pai and Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai during 1999/2000 they also were dreaming of me for quite some time.

They have been looking for an opportunity very seriously to bring me into this world. Fortunately Sri K.Krishnappa Mendon, Patron of the Association , kindled a ray of hope of my birth in Sri Maroor Padmanabha Pai, President , when Sri Mendon helped in getting a plot of land admeasuring 10 cents from the Mangalore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Mangalore. This allotment of land almost confirmed my birth. I was extremely happy that I could take birth in this world.

My joy knew no bounds when I saw the smiling faces of all the Members of the Association who decided to bring me into this world. They requested Sri Srinivas V.Kudva Chairman, Canara Workshops, Mangalore to lay the foundation stone on 27-11-2007 which announced my birth. But the formalities of obtaining licence to plan my birth were delayed at the MUDA. The application for licence was made in July 2007. Sri K.G.Shenoy and Sri M.Venkatesh Pai, Architect, had several rounds at the MUDA. Ultimately the license was issued in the third week of November 2007 which contained conditions. To fulfill the conditions against it took some time. All the conditions were met and my plan to see the world was ready by December 2007.

Thereafter the construction work was entrusted to M/s. Prakash Construction in the month of January 2008 and immediately in February 2008 I stated taking shape. I was glad thinking that I could see the world early. Unfortunately during March/ April 2008 the prices of steel and cement went up. The steel prices were almost doubled. This resulted in funds constraint and my birth was delayed for nearly two years.

During early 2010 generous Automobile Dealers like Lamina Suspension Products Pvt.Ltd., Arvind Motors Pvt.Ltd., Arvind Motors Pvt.Ltd., United Motors, TVS group, Maroor Group extended financial help and I am very glad that I started taking real nice shape once again from May 2010.

This time the work on me was going on continuously and without any hindrance. I was so happy that I was sure of seeing the world early.

Sri K.G.Shenoy suggested a nice name to me- AUTO BHAVAN, before I was born. This was announced by Sri Maroor Padmanabha Pai, President, in one of the Managing Committee Meetings. There were a few suggestions on my name. But the President and the Members of the Managing Committee felt AUTO BHAVAN was the right and apt name for their baby. Hence it was adopted by the Committee and I am happily named as AUTO BHAVA N. I love Sri K.G.Shenoy for awarding me a lovely name AUTO BHAVAN.

I have taken a nice, good excellent shape. I am beautiful. I am the pride of every Member. Thanks to Sri M.Venkatesh Pai, Architect, who gave me a very good shape. Thanks to Sri Prakash of M/s Prakash constructions who helped to make me technically strong and healthy. Thanks to Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai who toiled day in and day out to see me beautiful. Thanks to Sri Maroor Padmanabha Pai , President, the man behind the entire project and the Members of the Association who helped me to see this wonderful world.
